Not starting QB for Week 1 Beville will not be South Carolina's starting quarterback against Old Dominion on Aug. 31, Jordan Kaye of The State Newspaper reports.

Impact LaNorris Sellers was named South Carolina's starting quarterback Tuesday. The decision should not be so surprising, considering he was favored to win out as early as May. Even if Sellers is demoted, Beville must compete with Robby Ashford for snaps, making them relatively sparse.

Impact Beville entered the game after Dillon Gabriel was forced out with a concussion in the second quarter. The back-up quarterback was not able to have any success against a tenacious TCU defense. Impact Beville saw the first extended action of his career in the bowl game, completing 77.8 percent of his 18 pass attempts for 149 yards and 1:1 TD:INT ratio. However, with Kedon Slovis added to the roster, Beville would likely be facing an uphill battle to see the field next season. As a result, he'll look into the portal for other schools where he likely stands a better chance to start.
