Throws TD in second quarter Week 5 Brown completed five of seven passes for 54 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 38-7 victory versus Michigan State.

Impact Brown stepped in late in the second half after starting quarterback Will Howard took a hard hit that briefly forced him out of the game. The junior backup hit a 17-yard touchdown pass on his first play from scrimmage, finding standout true freshman wideout Jeremiah Smith who made a one-handed grab up the right sideline. Brown then took back over the reins to start the fourth quarter before handing them to freshman Julian Sayin for the final five minutes. With Howard coming back and playing the entire third quarter, there should be no question that he's still the starter for next week's home game against Iowa.

Impact Day has selected Will Howard to be Ohio State's starting quarterback. This marks the second straight year Brown has lost out on being QB1, having suffered that fate to Kyle McCord before their 2023 season together.
