Will not return Saturday Gabriel (head) will not return to Saturday's game against TCU, Chris Vannini of The Athletic reports.

Impact Gabriel was helped off the field after taking a hard hit on a slide that resulted in a TCU player being called for targeting. His day is done and now Gabriel's status for the Week 6 matchup against Texas will be a major storyline over the coming days.

Heads to locker room Gabriel went to the locker room in the second quarter of Saturday's matchup against TCU due to an apparent injury, Ryan Aber of The Oklahoman reports.

Impact Gabriel took a hit while sliding in the second quarter and ultimately went to the locker room after being examined in the injury tent. It's not yet clear whether he'll be able to return to Saturday's game, but Davis Beville has taken over under center for the Sooners.

Four TD passes in loss to KSU Gabriel completed 26 of 39 passes for 330 yards and a season-high four touchdown passes while also rushing for 61 yards on seven carries in Saturday's 41-34 loss to Kansas State.

Impact Gabriel was fantastic once again although the Sooners were shocked by Kansas State at home. The transfer quarterback has at least two touchdown passes in all four games and is averaging 31.5 rushing yards on 5.5 attempts per game. If the Oklahoma defense continues to struggle in conference play, it could be a huge season for Gabriel. Oklahoma will look to bounce back at TCU next week.

Accounts for three scores again Gabriel completed 16 of 27 passes for 230 yards and two touchdowns while scrambling for 55 yards and a score on six carries in Saturday's 49-14 win at Nebraska.

Impact Gabriel has been as good as advertised while notching three touchdowns in each of the Sooners' first three games. Against the Cornhuskers, he even posted a career-long 61-yard touchdown run on a quarterback draw play. Moreover, the star quarterback has not committed any turnovers and has Oklahoma looking like the best team in the conference. They'll start their conference campaign when hosting Kansas State next week.
