Michael Denning - Sits out openerDenning (undisclosed) did not play during Toledo's 49-10 win Thursday against Duquesne.

Junior Vandeross III - Reels in touchdown in blowoutVandeross III hauled in 4 of 7 targets for 37 yards and one touchdown during Thursday's 49-10 win over Duquesne.
ImpactVandeross was the clear second receiver option in Toledo's blowout victory. Although his receiving yards weren't anything too big, he was able to cash in the first touchdown of the game, making up for it. The junior wide receiver is primed for the number two receiver spot next to tight end Anthony Torres, as Jerjuan Newton should continue to lead the air attack for the Rockets.

Jerjuan Newton - Leads receiving room in victoryNewton caught all five targets for 87 yards and one touchdown during Thursday's 49-10 win over Duquesne.
ImpactNewton was, as expected, the top target for quarterback Tucker Gleason in Toledo's season opener. Along with his almost 90-yard performance, the wide receiver also cashed in a deep touchdown in the final minute of the first quarter. Newton should continue to be Gleason's top target as the competition grows more for the Rockets.

Willie Shaw III - Finds end zone in winShaw III logged seven carries for 50 yards and one touchdown during Thursday's 49-10 win against Duquesne.
ImpactStuart ended up recording the same amount of carries (seven) and one less touchdown than running back Jacquez Stuart, but the game was a blowout which should be considered. It appears Toledo will utilize but Shaw and Stuart this season, and both ball carriers showcased flashy abilities in the season opener.
AUGUST 30ROTOWIRE
Jacquez Stuart - One touchdown in victoryStuart totaled seven rushes for 34 yards and two touchdowns during Thursday's 49-10 victory versus Duquesne.
ImpactStuart was able to record two more touchdowns with the same amount of carries as starting running back Willie Shaw, but this could be attributed to the nature of the blowout game. Nonetheless, Stuart showcased why he deserves to still be a main part of Toledo's backfield in the weeks to come, along with Shaw.
AUGUST 30ROTOWIRE
Tucker Gleason - Throws three passing touchdownsGleason completed 15 of 23 passes for 205 yards and three touchdowns during Thursday's 49-10 victory over Duquesne. He also had five rushes for 16 yards.
ImpactGleason completed two passing touchdowns in the first quarter and was also able to dish out a 14-yard touchdown to Anthony Torres in the final two minutes of the first half. This dominant performance from the 6-foot-3 quarterback bids well for the rest of the season, especially as he looks to improve on his only four starts in the 2023 campaign.
