Jeremiah Salem - Opens season in backup role Salem has been named the backup quarterback for Saturday's game against UMass, according to The Ypsilanti Eleven.
Impact Head coach Chris Creighton acknowledged that Salem, a former walk-on-turned-scholarship quarterback, will open the campaign as Cole Snyder's backup, relegating Drew Viotto to a third-string role. Salem hasn't made a single start in his career, but he seems to have turned a few heads in camp with his play to be named a starter.
