Commits to Gardner-Webb Saydee announced his commitment to Gardner-Webb on Sunday.

Impact Surprisingly, Saydee will enroll at a non-FBS college for what is expected to be his last season of college football. He excelled during multiple years with Temple. From 2021 to 2023, Saydee logged at least 350 scrimmage yards and multiple touchdowns.

Decent production Saturday Saydee logged seven carries for 27 yards and gathered in 4 of 5 targets for 45 yards during Saturday's 27-23 loss against South Florida.

Impact Saydee gained a season-high 72 yards in Saturday's loss and received his most touches since Week 1. He has been buried in the depth chart behind Darvon Hubbard and Joquez Smith, but with Smith (undisclosed) out Saturday Saydee stepped up and out-gained Hubbard. It is unclear how the backfield will shake out after Smith returns, but it's a good sign nonetheless that Hubbard is back receiving significant touches.

Impact The 5-foot-11 running back was one of the only bright spots on the Owls' offense before leaving due to a leg injury in the team's blowout loss to Rutgers. Saydee was the only position player on Temple to find the end zone and was also able to walk off the field on his own power after the injury. If healthy for next week the redshirt freshman will look to lead Temple in rushing yet as the team takes on Akron.

Claims starting job Saydee was named Temple's starting running back for the Owls' season opener Thursday at Rutgers, 247Sports.com reports.

Impact After Re'Mahn Davis transferred to Vanderbilt in the offseason, the Owls had an opening atop the depth chart at running back, and Saydee was able to secure the job over Illinois graduate transfer Ra'Von Bonner and senior Tayvon Ruley. Saydee handled a limited role over his first two seasons with the Owls, handling 21 carries for 69 yards and no touchdowns while drawing only three targets.
