Leading receiver in meltdown Ross hauled in 5 of 8 targets for 78 yards during Thursday's 41-13 defeat versus Pittsburgh.

Impact Ross managed to pace Syracuse's receiver room while his quarterback Kyle McCord had a complete meltdown. It was the true freshman's first action since Week 1 and his first career stat-line. Syracuse is clearly high on the young wideout, but it remains to be seen if he'll be a staple of this passing game week in and week out.

Much better during second game Ross (foot) logged five receptions (on eight targets) for 78 yards during Syracuse's 41-13 loss Thursday at Pittsburgh.

Impact Ross began his collegiate career during Syracuse's game against Ohio on Aug. 31. Despite logging 10 snaps then, he failed to record any counting stats. Until the Thursday game, a foot injury prevented Ross from participating in Syracuse games. He was SU's best wideout then, being the only Cuse player to log more than 60 receiving yards Thursday.

Not spotted warming up Thursday Ross (foot) has not been seen during pregame warmups ahead of Thursday's game at Pittsburgh, Aiden Stepansky of The Daily Orange reports.

Impact Ross was reportedly "getting close" to returning to the field earlier in the week, but his lack of participation in warmups is not a good sign for his chances to play Thursday. The freshman appeared in the first game of the season but has not played since after suffering a foot injury. If he does not play Thursday he will have extra time to get healthy ahead of the team's next game versus Virginia Tech on Nov. 2.

Getting close to recovering Ross (foot) is "getting close" to recovering from his injury, Chris Carlson of Syracuse.com reports.

Impact Ross "getting close" indicates he could be available during Syracuse's next game, currently scheduled for Thursday at Pittsburgh.

Inactive Saturday Ross (foot) has been spotted in sweats and a walking boot ahead of Saturday's game against Holy Cross, Chris Carlson of The Syracuse Post-Standard reports.

Impact Ross will remain sidelined for Syracuse as they prepare to face off against the Crusaders in Week 5. The 6-foot-2 freshman wideout saw a handful of snaps in Syracuse's opener against Ohio, but he has yet to record a catch with the program.

SEPTEMBER 28 • ROTOWIRE

Ruled out Friday Ross (undisclosed) is not dressed for Friday's game against Stanford, Matt Park of Syracuse University reports.

Impact Ross is out for Friday's contest and will thin the team's depth in the receiver position. However, Ross hasn't played much of a role this season and wouldn't have been much of a target on offense even if healthy. His next chance to play will come against Holy Cross on Sep. 28.
