Impact A hamstring issue during the spring game put a damper on what was otherwise a strong spring for Lingard, who is looking to contribute after a pair of uneven seasons in Gainesville. New coach Billy Napier has a track record of using multiple backs in his offense dating back to his time at Louisiana, so it's unlikely that Lingard takes on a workhorse role. Look for Lingard to be part of a backfield mix that also includes Nay'Quan Wright and Montrell Johnson.

Impact Florida is in Year 1 under new coach Billy Napier and it appears that the first order of business was nixing the type of quarterback controversy that hung over the program in 2021. The Gators added Ohio State transfer Jack Miller this offseason but Richardson's performance in the spring game left little doubt as to where he stands on the depth chart. He went 18-for-24 for 207 yards and two touchdowns through the air and added a rushing score against the first-team defense.
