Former Rutgers starting QB is back in transfer portal Former Rutgers quarterback Gavin Wimsatt is back in the transfer portal.

Impact Wimsatt is a former four-star recruit who started his career at Rutgers, but he wasn't able to make an impact at Kentucky. He made just eight appearances in his lone season with the Wildcats, completing 16 of 39 passes for 287 yards while posting a 3:4 TD:INT.

Impact Wimsatt relieved an ineffective Cutter Boley and tossed two touchdowns, including an 83-yard strike to Ja'Mori Maclin. However, both came when the game was already out of hand, and Wimsatt had limited impact following a transfer from Rutgers last offseason. This was his season high in terms of passing yards and touchdowns. The Wildcats did not qualify for a bowl game, leaving Wimsatt to start getting ready for a quarterback competition in the spring.
