Impact McCoy will look to move on from Oregon State after one season. The junior quarterback completed 123 of 202 passes for 1,300 yards, three touchdowns and six interceptions while also rushing the ball 59 times for 328 yards and five scores across 10 appearances this season.

Impact McCoy started against Air Force but only last two series in the game. Freshman Gabarri Johnson received the bulk of the time under center, but wasn't impressive. Beavers' starting quarterback Ben Gulbranson (undisclosed) missed the contest against Air Force and it is still unknown if he will be available against Washington State on Nov. 23. It's unknown if McCoy or Johnson will get the start against the Cougars if Gulbranson is not available.

Starting for Beavers McCoy will start for Oregon State against Air Force, The Oregonian reports.

Impact McCoy will resume his starting role with Ben Gulbranson unable to travel with the team. McCoy didn't play last week, but the quarterback has thrown for 1,300 yards, three touchdowns and six interceptions while completing 61.5 percent of his passes. He'll look to re-earn the starting job after getting benched against California.

Not starting Saturday McCoy is not starting Saturday's game versus San Jose State, Jake Hedberg of 247Sports reports.

Impact McCoy was benched after the fifth series in the Beavers' last game at California and now that decision has spilled over into Saturday's contest. Ben Gulbranson will get the start for Oregon State in McCoy's place.

Benched against California McCoy completed 2 of 5 passes for three yards and one interception during Saturday's 44-7 defeat against California.

Impact After the fifth series against California, McCoy was replaced. Junior Ben Gulbranson received the most time under center after McCoy was benched. The Beavers could still go with McCoy against San Jose State on Saturday (Nov. 9) since the junior has started every game so far in 2024, but Gulbranson might get first shot against the Spartans. San Jose State's defense is in the middle of the country against the pass.

Struggles in the air against Rebels McCoy completed 21 of 37 passes for 231 yards during Saturday's 33-25 defeat to UNLV. He also had 16 rushes for 81 yards with two touchdowns.

Impact McCoy could not build off his Oregon State best passing day against Nevada (348 yards) on Oct. 12. The rushing yards were a positive, but the Idaho transfer was also sacked six times in the defeat to UNLV. The junior could have a better day throwing the ball on Saturday (Oct. 26) against California. The Golden Bears defense is in the bottom quarter of the country against the pass.

Career best passing McCoy was 27-for-42 passing for 348 yards, one touchdown and four interceptions during Saturday's 42-37 loss against Nevada. He also had eight rushes for 18 yards.

Impact The passing total against Nevada was McCoy's best in a game even during his days at Idaho. Outside of the loss to Nevada, the only negative was the junior threw three interceptions. McCoy could be in for another shot at a career best in the next game against UNLV on Oct. 19. The Rebels have one of the worst pass defenses in the country.

Career best on the ground McCoy completed 16 of 28 passes for 147 yards and one interception during Saturday's 39-31 overtime victory versus Colorado State. He also had 10 rushes for 91 yards with three tou...

Impact McCoy has been doing more damage running the ball than throwing the ball. Against Colorado State the junior's rushing yards was a career best as well as the number of rushing touchdowns. McCoy could have a better day against Nevada on Saturday. The Wolf Pack defense is in the bottom quarter of the country against the pass while middle of the country against the run.

Career best on the ground McCoy completed 10 of 18 passes for 104 yards during Saturday's 38-21 victory versus Purdue. He also had 10 rushes for 66 yards.

Impact McCoy did not have to do much passing, so he joined into the fun on the ground. The Oregon State running game tallied 345 yards and four touchdowns. The Idaho transfer's best rushing game actually happened the previous week where the junior had 52 rushing yards. The Beavers might be looking for him to throw in the next game, Oct. 5, against Colorado State, whose pass defense is near the bottom in the nation.

Despite defeat, shows improvement McCoy completed 22 of 34 passes for 172 yards during Saturday's 49-14 loss against Oregon. He also had six rushes for 52 yards.

Impact The junior has been making incremental improvement this season. It was the best McCoy has shown in the early going. The junior signal caller might be in for a big game on the ground in the next game on Sept. 21 against Purdue. The Boilermakers are near the bottom in the country against the running game including allowing 234 rushing yards per game.

Does Enough in Beavers Win McCoy completed 15-of-25 pass attempts for 160 yards in the Oregon State 21-0 win over San Diego State on Sept. 7.

Impact The junior signal caller did not have to do much with the Beavers defense and the running game taking over. McCoy also contributed 10 rushing yards on two carries. If the first couple weeks is a trend don't expect Oregon State to rely on the passing game. It's a short sample, but Oregon State leads in time of possession per game in the nation. The junior and Oregon State will have a tougher time against instate rival Oregon on Sept. 14 in the annual Civil War game. The Ducks defense was middle of the road in the country against the pass last season.

Not Much Needed in Win over Bengals McCoy only had to throw the ball 10 times, but completed nine of them for 114 yards including a touchdown in the 38-15 win over Idaho State on Saturday.

Impact The junior currently has the starting job, but backup, freshman Gabarri Johnson also saw time on the field. Johnson came in for the third series, completing 2-of-4 passes for 34 yards. Oregon State dominated the ground game with 380 rushing yards. McCoy, who transferred from Idaho, threw for more than a combined 4,700 passing yards in total in 2022 and 23 for the Vandals.
