Impact After getting beaten out by Evan Simon for the starting role, McCoy was able to see some action in Saturday's blowout win. The former Idaho and Oregon State quarterback has a lot of experience, heading into his fifth year, and will be ready to step up if something happens to Simon.

The rushing yards were a positive, but the Idaho transfer was also sacked six times in the defeat to UNLV. The junior could have a better day throwing the ball on Saturday (Oct. 26) against California. The Golden Bears defense is in the bottom quarter of the country against the pass.

Impact The passing total against Nevada was McCoy's best in a game even during his days at Idaho. Outside of the loss to Nevada, the only negative was the junior threw three interceptions. McCoy could be in for another shot at a career best in the next game against UNLV on Oct. 19. The Rebels have one of the worst pass defenses in the country.

The Idaho transfer's best rushing game actually happened the previous week where the junior had 52 rushing yards. The Beavers might be looking for him to throw in the next game, Oct. 5, against Colorado State, whose pass defense is near the bottom in the nation.
