Available for spring ball Coach Jedd Fisch said Tuesday that Cruz (thumb) will available for spring ball, Justin Spears of the Arizona Daily Star reports.

Impact Cruz missed the second half of the season after undergoing thumb surgery in October, but he's good to go for Arizona's spring work. The Wildcats' quarterback situation was a mess in 2021, with three different signal-callers, Cruz, Will Plummer and Jordan McCloud, attempting at least 70 passes. All three are set to return for the upcoming campaign, but Jayden de Laura, a transfer from Washington State, may be the favor to start.

Set to rotate in opener Cruz and Will Plummer will split playing time in Arizona's season opener against BYU, Ryan Kelapire of SB Nation reports.

Impact Cruz will get the first series, per coach Jedd Fisch, but Arizona will be rotating Plummer into the mix as well. It's unclear whether the rotation will continue past the opener.
