In season-ending loss, did Georgia's Gunner Stockton do enough to keep starting job? Stockton stayed true to form, and true to himself, after Georgia’s loss to Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl on Thursday.
Can't spark offense in CFP loss Stockton completed 20 of 32 passes for 234 yards and one touchdown during Thursday's 23-10 defeat to Notre Dame. He also had 10 rushes for -23 yards.
Impact Stockton wasn't abysmal in place of the injured Carson Beck, but Georgia's offense was stymied all afternoon and the quarterback couldn't do much to alter that. He made some impressive throws into tight windows over the middle and connected on a few deep shots, but it wasn't enough to soften up a stingy Irish defense. Stockton, a redshirt junior, should have a great chance to compete for the Bulldogs' QB1 gig in 2025.
