Louisiana Tech QB Hank Bachmeier to enter transfer portal: Multi-year starter seeks third program There won't be many quarterbacks in the portal with more experience.
Leaving Louisiana Tech Bachmeier is expected to enter the transfer portal, Matt Zenitz of On3.com reports.
Impact Bachmeier will look for his third program in three years after transferring from Boise State to Louisiana Tech ahead of the 2023 season. This year, Bachmeier completed 181-of-268 passes for 2,035 yards, 10 touchdowns and five interceptions.

Throws TD, INT Bachmeier went 24-for-37 for 198 yards, one touchdown, and one interception against JSU on Saturday. He also ran four times for 20 yards.
Impact This is, to a degree fortunately, the final game for La Tech this season. Bachmeier transferred in to be the starting quarterback, but he did not excel when he was healthy. On the year he threw for 10 touchdowns against five interceptions in nine games.

Totals three TDs Bachmeier went 20-for-27 for 238 yards and a touchdown against NMSU on Tuesday. He also ran 11 times for 18 yards and two touchdowns, but also fumbled twice.
Impact Bachmeier got injured and lost the starting job, but returned to the starting roll for this one. His passing was efficient, if unremarkable, and the two lost fumbles played a role in the Bulldogs losing.

Impact Bachmeier played reasonably well off the bench prior to the bye and has seemingly retaken the starting job from Jack Turner, who has struggled to get much offense going. Bachmeier enters Tuesday completing 66.2 percent of his pass attempts for 934 yards and a 6:2 TD:INT ratio.

Officially enters transfer portal Bachmeier has entered the transfer portal Tuesday, Pete Thamel of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Bachmeier left Boise State after the team fired offensive coordinator Tim Plough. He appeared in 29 games over the last four seasons with the Broncos and had seen significant playing time since his freshman year. Per Thamel, Bachmeier will have two seasons of eligibility remaining, and his priorities are on winning and NFL development. In his absence, Taylen Green has been announced as Boise's State's starting quarterback.

Impact Boise State's defense showed up in a big way for the Broncos on Saturday and Bachmeier made sure to recognize their work with an impressive offensive showing. In 2021, Bachmeier threw for over 200 yards in 10 of the 12 games he appeared in, but Saturday's game marked his first 200-plus yard outing of the season. The Broncos are still missing the presence of Khalil Shakir who went pro last year, but they will have to find a way to continue this type of success offensively. It is of note that Bachmeier left the fourth quarter on a roughing the passer penalty, but he should return for Friday's matchup with UTEP.
