ImpactNoel has managed at least eight targets in three of four games this season. He's the secondary target in this offense as lead receiver Jayden Higgins had eight catches (on 12 targets) for 79 yards and a touchdown. Higgins has a touchdown catch in every game this year while Noel had a score in the first two weeks. Iowa State will host Baylor next week.

ImpactDespite having just two touchdowns as a team in the game, Higgins was able to add his fourth straight contest with a touchdown reception. The number one receiver also had his second game with double-digit targets. Teammate Jaylin Noel had four catches on eight targets. Higgins and Noel are both a play against Baylor next week.

Jaylon Jackson - Team-high 14 carries in shutoutJackson tallied 14 rushes for 96 yards and hauled in his only target for three yards during Saturday's 20-0 victory versus Houston.

ImpactJackson received a team-high 14 carries and recorded his second straight game with double-digit carries. Teammate Abu Sama had 11 carries for 101 yards and a touchdown, however, most of that came on his 77-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. It's entirely possible that Iowa State utilizes a committee approach at running back as they attempt to keep their undefeated record moving forward. They'll host Baylor next week.

ImpactSama's day was greatly helped from a 77-yard touchdown late in the fourth quarter of the shutout win. It was his first touchdown of the 2024 season. It's worth noting that teammate Jaylon Jackson had 14 carries for 96 yards, and it looks like Iowa State will utilize a committee approach in the backfield. Iowa State will host Baylor next week.

Rocco Becht - Leans on defense for winBecht completed 17 of 28 passes for 153 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 20-0 victory against Houston.

ImpactBecht didn't have to do much as Iowa State leaned on their defense in a shutout of Houston. The Cyclones are now undefeated, and their starting quarterback has seven touchdowns versus just two interceptions. It's likely he'll have to do a bit more when they play Baylor, West Virginia, and UCF over the next three weeks.
