Competing for starting job Sears will compete in fall camp to start under center for the opener against UCF, Jay Tust of KTVB Channel 7 reports. Impact Sears and Hank Bachmeier will reportedly rotate between the first-string and second-string offense until one of the two separates himself for the starting gig. Sears performed well in limited action last season, completing 85.2 percent of his 27 pass attempts for 332 yards and three touchdowns, but he missed a chunk of the season due to injury. Should Sears land the job, it comes with some impressive wideouts to throw to, including senior Khalil Shakir (lower body), who is expected to be among the better fantasy receiver options in 2021.
