Impact With Cade McNamara issuing a statement on Instagram disclosing that he is has yet to recover from a concussion suffered against Northwestern in Week 9, per Tyler Tachman of the Des Moines Register, Stratton, the named backup, appears in line to start. The 6-foot-4 sophomore threw for 28 yards (3-of-6) in his lone appearance against UCLA this season, adding on one carry for 14 yards.

Impact Brendan Sullivan is out for the remainder of the regular season at least, and Cade McNamara isn't yet at full capacity health-wise. Thus, Stratton could be in line to start. In fact, head coach Kirk Ferentz told reporters that if Iowa had to play today, Stratton would be the starting signal caller. There's still plenty of time for McNamara to get healthy, and he would presumably be the starter in that case. Still, there's a real possibility Stratton could play against the Terps.

Impact Stratton filled in for fellow quarterback Brendan Sullivan after the starter suffered an ankle sprain in the third quarter. The junior quarterback completed three of six passes for 28 yards, adding 14 yards on the ground as well. The severity of Sullivan's injury is thus far unknown, though Stratton would be forced to fill in once again should the starter miss extended time. A road matchup against Maryland awaits following this week's bye.
