Out indefinitely Griffin (lower body) is out indefinitely, Nick Daschel of Oregonlive.com reports.

Impact Griffin has missed the past two games, and there's currently no timetable for the tailback's recovery. He's been a big factor on the ground for the Beavers when healthy, tallying 73 carries for 450 yards and four scores thus far in 2024. Still, it's unclear when Griffin will be back, leaving Anthony Hankerson and Salahadin Allah to handle the majority of the reps in Oregon State's backfield.

Out against UNLV Griffin (lower body) is out for Oregon State's game Saturday against UNLV, Isaac Streeter of The Portland Tribune reports.

Impact Griffin will sit out another one of Oregon State's games due to his lower-body injury. In his place, Anthony Hankerson and Salahadin Allah are expected to step up at running back. As for Griffin, his next opportunity to play for Oregon State is at California on Oct. 26.

Impact Griffin not participating in the Beavers' pre-game warmup is not a positive sign he will be available for their upcoming game. There is still at least some time before the UNLV matchup begins. But barring another news update, Griffin's injury status will remain a game-time decision at best.

If he is healthy for the next game, he might have a chance to rebound against Nevada on Saturday. The Wolf Pack defense is in the middle of the country against the run.

Impact Losing Griffin means Oregon State will have to operate with a thinner backfield. Expect Salahadin Allah and Jake Reichle to potentially get more touches as backups behind Anthony Hankerson. As for Griffin, the earliest he might return will be the game against Nevada on Oct. 12, but that depends on the extent of the injury.

Impact After rushing for only 27 yards against Oregon the previous week, Griffin surpassed the century mark on the ground for the second time this season. The senior's return to Oregon State after one season at Mississippi has gone very well. Griffin's season of 413 rushing yards in four games is already on the verge of surpassing his best season. He had 486 rushing yards for the Beavers in 2022. After a bye week, Griffin might have a tougher time on Oct. 5 against Colorado State whose defense is in the top 40 against the run in the country.

Impact The senior missed a golden chance against a soft Ducks run defense. Part of the problem is that Oregon pulled away in the second half which forced Oregon State to throw the ball. Recently Griffin has had the better of what was expected to be a timeshare with Anthony Hankerson. But Hankerson tallied 57 rushing yards, but it took him 15 carries. The senior will have a shot to regain the lead role or at the very least feast on the Purdue defense in the next game, Sept. 21. The Boilermakers' rushing defense is near the bottom of the country against the run, averaging 234 yards per game.

Leads Potent Beavers Running Attack Griffin led the Oregon St. running game with 89 yards on 18 carries and a touchdown in the Beavers 21-0 win over San Diego State on Sept. 7.

Impact The senior is already halfway to his best career season. In only two games Griffin has accumulated 249 rushing yards. He collected 486 rushing yards in 2022 for Oregon State. Griffin could be in line for a big game this Saturday (Sept. 14) against instate rival Oregon in the annual Civil War game. The Ducks just allowed Boise State's Ashton Jeanty to run for 192 yards.

Hankerson ran 24 times for 155 yards and two touchdowns against Idaho State. Griffin could have another big game in the next contest against San Diego State on Sept. 7. The Aztecs defense, was near the bottom in the nation against the run, allowed almost 170 rushing yards per game in 2023.
