Impact Dean transferred to Southern Miss this past offseason after failing to carve out a role with Mississippi State. The 5-foot-11 running back missed three games during the 2022 season due to undisclosed reasons, finishing the campaign with 62 carries for 191 yards and three touchdowns to go along with five receptions (on seven targets) for 24 yards. However, Dean will opt to cut his career short while completing his academic degree and focusing on his family, per Watkins. With the Golden Eagles' No. 2 running back moving on, Antavious Willis and Dajon Richard should be in line for increased roles behind leading rusher Frank Gore heading into the 2023 campaign.
