Rushing touchdown in victory Daniels completed just 8-of-20 passes for 80 yards at Auburn on Saturday, though did rush 16 times for 59 yards and a touchdown in the 21-17 win.
Impact Daniels strained his back in the prior game, and while he did struggle to pass the ball, he showed no ill effects as a rusher. He did bang knees with an Auburn defender in the fourth, and Garrett Nussmeier finished the contest for the Tigers. That being said, Daniels should be fine for what could be a shootout with Tennessee next weekend.

Strains back Saturday LSU coach Brian Kelly said that Daniels strained his lower back during Saturday's 38-0 win over New Mexico, Wilson Alexander of The New Orleans Advocate reports.
Impact Daniels initially appeared to suffer a head injury after being tackled hard to the ground Saturday, but he now seems to be dealing with a minor lower back strain according to Kelly. The Tigers' head coach added that the junior could have returned, but that it was unnecessary given wide scoring margin by that point of the game. Daniels' next opportunity to play will come on the road against Auburn in Week 5; otherwise, freshman Garrett Nussmeier will step in under center for LSU.

Heads to injury tent Daniels exited with an apparent head injury during Saturday's game against New Mexico, Brody Miller of The Athletic reports.
Impact Daniels appeared to hit the ground hard on his head after scrambling for a first down against the Lobos. The starting signal-caller was tended to by multiple members of the Tigers' training staff before being taken to the medical tent on the team's sideline. Daniels completed 24 of his 29 passes for 279 yards while adding 37 yards on nine carries before exiting Saturday's game. With Walker Howard set to redshirt, freshman Garrett Nussmeier will step in as LSU's lone remaining quarterback for the time being.
