Out for remainder of 2025 McGowan (undisclosed) is out for the remainder of UNC Charlotte's 2025 season, Hunter Bailey of The Charlotte Observer reports.

Impact UNC Charlotte's 2025 season began Aug. 29, during which McGowan logged a seven-yard reception against Appalachian State. Between then and Sunday, the wide receiver suffered an undisclosed problem, which is why 2025's remaining schedule will no longer include him.

Headed to Charlotte McGowan has announced his commitment to Charlotte.

Impact McGowan will join the 49ers after spending this past fall with Boston College. The 5-foot-7 wideout, who started his career at Vanderbilt, logged two carries for 13 yards during his time with the Eagles. As a member of the Commodores, McGowan caught 80 passes for 836 yards and three touchdowns across 24 games, adding on 32 carries for 160 yards on the ground.

Impact Transferring from Vanderbilt to Boston College did not really pan out for McGowan. The junior was more of a kick returner than a wide receiver, which is not difficult when one logs zero receiving yards, what he recorded during BC's 2024 regular season.
