Another quiet outing Lane accrued three receptions (on five targets) for 29 yards during Saturday's 31-7 win versus Stanford.

Impact Lane continued to be limited in this Hokies offense. The wideout hasn't hit 50 yards since his seven-catch, 106-yard, one-touchdown explosion in Week 3. He's still seeing his fair share of targets (16 over the past three games) but he's been unable to turn that into consistent production as the season has worn on.

Scores on the ground vs. Miami Lane compiled four receptions (on five targets) for 49 yards during Friday's 38-34 loss against Miami (FL). He also had a 20-yard touchdown run.

Impact Lane remained a consistently involved receiver with five targets against the Hurricanes. He scored his second touchdown of the year on a 20-yard carry, only the third handoff he's taken all year. With a rather lukewarm Virginia Tech passing attack led by quarterback Kyron Drones, don't expect Lane to stuff the stat sheet with any sort of consistency.

Impact Virginia Tech's entire passing game was bottled up against Rutgers, and Lane felt the effects of that. Coming off a big performance last week against Old Dominion, Lane was held to his worst stat-line of 2024. Still, he saw six targets and will remain a focal point of this passing game moving forward, one that's been tepid with quarterback Kyron Drones.

Impact Lane had his biggest game of the season against Old Dominion. He finally had a true wide receiver one performance, topping 100 yards for the first time in 2024 as well as scoring his first touchdown. Lane has been an integral part of this offense all year, but that was finally reflected on the stat sheet as well.

Impact Lane also hauled in four catches in the opener against Vanderbilt. He's amassed 11 targets through two games, which is a good sign that he'll continue to be heavily involved in this passing attack. If he keeps seeing those kinds of targets, he's bound to have a breakthrough performance. His four catches led the Hokies on Saturday.

Impact Lane enjoyed a breakout season in 2022, tallying 69 catches for 940 yards and five touchdowns in 11 games. The 5-foot-8 receiver should get the chance to compete for a starting role with the Hokies while he takes a step up in competition from Conference USA to the Atlantic Coast Conference.
