Impact With a new head coach in Derek Mason for 2024, there were questions about how guys who stuck around would be used. By the end of the year, Middlebrook, a redshirt freshman, seemed to be the primary back, and also a weapon in the passing game. He had at least four receptions in three of his last four outings.

Impact The redshirt freshman wasn't playing early in the year, and health played a role in that, but he's had double-digit touches on three occasions over the second half of the season. If Middlebrook can replicate this performance next week against FIU, he'll be in the driver's seat for the lead role in 2025.
