On outs from Kentucky Gatewood officially entered the transfer portal Monday and is set to move on from Kentucky, 247Sports.com reports. Impact Gatewood will be leaving his second SEC program after he a member of Auburn's 2018 signing class before he transferred to Kentucky ahead of the 2020 season. After being granted a waiver to compete for the Wildcats last fall, Gatewood served as the understudy to Terry Wilson and completed 17 of 35 attempts for 109 yards and an interception while adding 62 yards on the ground. Heading into his redshirt junior campaign, Gatewood was in competition with Penn State transfer Will Levis for the starting job, and the former ultimately elected to explore his options elsewhere when Levis was named the No. 1 option. Gatewood still has two years of eligibility remaining, but since he already used his one-time waiver, he won't be able to compete in 2021 if he lands at another school.
