Won't play vs. Virginia Randolph (undisclosed) will remain out this week against Virginia, Michael Koh of WCHL & Chapelboro reports.

Impact Randolph hasn't played since Week 4 against James Madison, and that trend will continue here in Week 9 against the Cavaliers. The redshirt freshman tight end has yet to log a collegiate statistic. His next chance to play will come on Saturday, Nov. 2 against Florida State.

Participates in Tuesday practice Randolph (lower body) participated in North Carolina's team practice Tuesday, Adam Smith of 247Sports.com reports.

Impact Now that Randolph is healthy, perhaps he can finally begin his collegiate career, which was expected to commence during 2023 before a lower-body injury prematurely took him out of action. Currently, Randolph is expected to challenge Jake Johnson to be North Carolina's third tight end behind Bryson Nesbit and John Copenhaver.

Impact Randolph sat out the whole of 2023 due to a lower-body issue, and it appears he's still recovering from it as spring ball rolls around. He'll enter the 2024 campaign as a redshirt freshman, and even when he returns to full health, the freshman seems unlikely to post a big campaign, given the depth the Tar Heels' sport at tight end.
