Impact Lamson didn't start the game for Stanford, but he eventually replaced the struggling Ashton Daniels and wound up scoring twice. He wasn't all that efficient, as his 3-of-8 passing and 12 carries for 25 yards will tell you, but he did score twice. Daniels also posted two rushing touchdowns, but ultimately, this quarterback room remains a mess in Palo Alto.

Doesn't start vs. Irish Lamson completed 2 of 4 passes for 13 yards during Saturday's 49-7 loss versus Notre Dame. He also had six rushes for two yards with one touchdown.

Impact Lamson logged his first start of the season last week against Virginia Tech in place of the struggling Ashton Daniels. However, Lamson struggled himself in that game and it led to Stanford going back to Daniels in its blowout loss at the hands of Notre Dame. He still attempted four passes against the Irish, but it appears the Cardinal have decided to roll with Daniels for the time being.

Struggles in first start of 2024 Lamson was 13-for-24 passing for 103 yards and one interception during Saturday's 31-7 defeat to Virginia Tech. He also had 19 rushes for 36 yards.

Impact Lamson was announced as the starter to replace a struggling Ashton Daniels, and he proceeded to put up a worse stat-line than Daniels ever did as the starter for the Cardinal. He simply couldn't get it going in a blowout defeat at the hands of Virginia Tech, and his performance may have the Stanford staff thinking twice about benching Daniels.

Set to start Saturday Lamson will start under center Saturday against Virginia Tech, Pete Thamel of ESPN.com reports.

Impact Lamson has served in a backup role thus far in 2024, but it appears he'll get his first crack in the starting role Saturday. Ashton Daniels is reportedly available for the contest, so it may just be a case of switching the options under center after Daniels struggled mightily last week.

Relieves struggling Daniels Lamson was 4-for-8 passing for 54 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 40-14 defeat versus Clemson. He also had eight rushes for -11 yards.

Impact Lamson threw a touchdown with the game well out of reach against Clemson, as Stanford had seen enough from its starter Ashton Daniels. It was a horrendous all-around offensive performance, but it's worth noting that Daniels has now thrown five interceptions in his past two games. Lamson could begin to breathe down the quarterback's neck if he continues to struggle.

Listed in co-starting role Lamson is listed as a co-starter ahead of Stanford's season opener against TCU on Friday.

Impact Even though Ashton Daniels is the odds-on favorite to start under center, Stanford is also listing both Lamson and Elijah Brown as options for the position. Lamson struggled in a relief role in 2023, completing just 43.2 percent of his passes in 11 games while tossing no touchdowns and two interceptions.

Used as running threat Lamson completed his only pass attempt for 27 yards during Saturday's 10-7 victory versus Washington State. He also added 20 rushes for 54 yards and a touchdown.

Impact Stanford opted to play a two-quarterback system on Saturday, with Lamson being used primarily as a runner. Though he wasn't particularly effective in the yardage department, his did manage to find the end zone on the ground for the fourth time this season. Unfortunately, the sophomore quarterback is not a threat in the passing game as long as Ashton Daniels is the starter, and his 11 combined carries in the previous three games indicates this level of production is unlikely to continue.

Impact Lamson was set to be the backup quarterback for Garrett Shrader this season, but will instead be sidelined in 2022. The redshirt freshman had gotten increased action in the spring while Shrader was out with a hamstring injury, and started the spring game where he had seven complete passes for 151 yards and two touchdowns. He will now have to wait until his third year of college to earn the chance to be on the field, and his absence will likely promote JaCobian Morgan to the QB2 position.
