Out Thursday Roberts (undisclosed) is out for Thursday's game with an undisclosed injury, per Davis Lemons of TheAppalachianOnline.com.

Impact Roberts will miss Thursday's game with an undisclosed injury, his second missed game of the season. The redshirt sophomore running back left last week's game against Old Dominion with an injury and apparently has been unable to shake it in time for Thursday's matchup. Roberts will hope to use next week's bye to recover in time for the Mountaineers' next matchup against James Madison the following Saturday.

Dominates Ragin' Cajuns Roberts totaled 26 rushes for 148 yards and reeled in 1 of 2 targets for 15 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 34-24 loss versus Louisiana.

Impact Roberts hadn't generated more than 38 rushing yards in a game this season and tallied fewer than 10 carries in four of five appearances. He shattered those totals in Week 7, assuming lead running back duties in place of Anderson Castle (undisclosed). Despite Saturday's outburst, Roberts is expected to continue to share rushes when Castle is healthy.

Impact With workhorse back Nate Noel entering the transfer portal this offseason, there was a possibility that Roberts would enter a lead role for the Mountaineers in 2024. However, the team utilized a committee approach, with Anderson Castle seeing nine carries, Maquel Haywood rushing four times and Ahmani Marshall receiving three carries. While Roberts led the group in yards, his upside is severely capped by the timeshare.

Impact Although Roberts didn't see a massive workload Saturday, he managed to put together a strong stat line. He averaged 7.8 yards per carry on the day and notched his fifth rushing touchdown of the campaign. He'll finish the regular season with 100 attempts for 595 yards while adding 11 catches for 97 yards over 10 games.

Impact While Nate Noel (ankle) was available for Saturday's game, he received only three carries, leaving plenty of work for Roberts. Though Roberts saw his carry total split in half Saturday, he still managed to top 100 yards and find the end zone. If Noel continues to be hampered by injury, expect Roberts to retain a starting role.
