Not promised starting role Slovis (arm) is not guaranteed the starting quarterback spot upon making his return from injury, Mitch Harper of KSL News Salt Lake City reports. Impact Head coach Kalani Sitake stated that Slovis will "have to earn the right to get that back", in reference to the Cougars' starting quarterback spot when he makes his return from an arm injury. The senior quarterback has thrown for 1,716 yards (152-of-265), 12 touchdowns and six interceptions across eight appearances this season. Slovis will compete to earn his starting spot back with Jake Retzlaff, who made his first career start against West Virginia in Week 10.
