Impact This news on Kattus comes as a bit of a surprise, considering the tight end was healthy ahead of the summer. The 6-foot-4 junior's status now is questionable for Week 1 against Southern Mississippi.

Impact Gilmore will miss out a chunk of his freshman year with what is reportedly a collarbone injury. The 6-foot-1 wide receiver's status will continue to be monitored, but he should not be expected to return any earlier than at least October.

With its lead Chip Trayanum (hand) out at least a game or two, UK would have to rely more on the committee's other members, which also includes Wilcox. He has had "a great fall camp" in Gershon's words, so the running back getting increased opportunities is undoubtedly possible.

Impact This revelation comes after two developments. Kentucky's head coach Mark Stoops has said the 2024 Wildcats may use a committee for their running game. Chip Trayanum, the expected lead of said committee, suffered a broken hand that will require him to sit out one or two games. Among the Wildcats' other backs, Sumo-Karngbaye has the most experience, which could bode well for immediate opportunities.
