Finally available Zipperer (knee) is available for Florida's game Saturday at Mississippi State.

Impact Now that Zipperer is available, he can log his first snaps since 2022. A knee injury prevented him from participating in Florida's 2023 season. Before then, the 2021 and 2022 Gators benefited from Zipperer recording at least 100 yards.

Impact The Gators listed six tight ends on the opening depth chart and Zipperer was not one of them. That likely means he is not quite healthy enough to return after tearing his ACL just over 13 months ago. While there's no official confirmation on his status, it's unlikely he suits up in Week 1.

Impact Earlier in fall camp, Zipperer was observed with a brace on his right knee, but was still practicing in full. Now, he's participating without any extraneous equipment and appears to be close to or at full strength.

Impact It appears likely that Zipperer is still rehabbing from the torn ACL that cost him his 2023 season. Fortunately for him, Wednesday marked only the beginning of Florida's fall camp. Zipperer still has a month to recover before the Gators begin their 2024 season against Miami on Aug. 31.

Impact Zipperer missed all of the 2023 campaign with a torn ACL suffered last spring and is apparently not all the way back yet. The senior will continue to rehab in spring with no clear date for when he'll be ready to practice and/or shed the no-contact jersey. When healthy, Zipperer could prove to be a contributor at tight end again after turning in double-digit catches in each season between 2020 and 2022.
