Practicing in fall camp Stokes has been an active participant during Tulsa's fall camp session after recovering from a torn quad injury this offseason, John Tranchina of Tulsa World reports.
Impact Stokes, who has also contributed as a rusher over the course of his Tulsa career, only managed to put together 11 catches for 148 yards over four games last year while playing with a torn quad injury suffered in Week 2 against Oklahoma State. However, the graduate senior wideout was the team's leading receiver over each of his first three collegiate seasons, including a career-best 46 catches for 1,040 yards and six touchdowns in 2019. Stokes will now combine with fellow fifth-year receiver JuanCarlos Santana as Tulsa's top-two pass catchers heading into the 2022 campaign.

Impact After nearly going for 100 yards in the teams opener, Stokes had a quiet week two performance. The 5-foot-10 receiver only recorded two receptions and failed to top 20 yards. Stokes only had one game last season with two or less catches so this outing does seem like an outlier. The graduate senior will look to continue to build a connection with quarterback Davis Brin as the year goes on.

Impact Tulsa's leading receiver got off to a good start to the season Thursday going for nearly 100 yards on four receptions, but also lost a fumble as well. Stokes has established himself as one of the top receivers in the conference over the years and it was encouraging to see him produce even when quarterback Davis Brin struggled throughout the game. The graduate senior will look to continue to be the top target of Tulsas's passing offense as the season progresses.
