Withdraws from portal Jenkins will withdraw from the transfer portal, Chris Hummer of 247Sports.com reports.

Impact Jenkins entered the portal after a productive year with Florida International that saw him toss for 2,557 yards, 22 touchdowns and eight interceptions while completing 61.8 percent of his passes. He initially planned to take his two seasons of eligibility elsewhere, but he'll return to the Panthers, where he should be the overwhelming favorite to start next fall once again. His return is huge news for this program trying to right the ship after a 4-8 season.

Impact Jenkins did fumble twice, and while neither was lost this is the area the sophomore will need to improve on in 2025. He improved his YPA by over a yard, doubled his touchdowns, and dropped his interceptions, but Jenkins also put the ball on the ground nine times, and that's a concern.

Impact Jenkins had fumble issues early in the season, but this was his first fumble in five games. He's thrown nine touchdowns over his last three contests, and is primed for his first 20-touchdown season.

Impact Jenkins last two games have been his best of the season, as he's thrown four touchdowns with no turnovers and added 60 rushing yards. That's encouraging with only Kennesaw State and MTSU left on the schedule.

Impact Jenkins got benched last week, so starting and throwing four touchdowns is a real turn around. However, NMSU does have a terrible defense, so that has to be taken into account.

Tough day against Liberty Jenkins went 19-for-29 for 245 yards and an interception against Liberty on Tuesday. He ran for 11 yards and a touchdown, but also lost a fumble.

Impact Jenkins has improved in his sophomore season, but one thing remains a concern, and that's turnovers. Or, rather, the potential for turnovers. In addition to five picks and two lost fumbles, Jenkins has fumbled four other times that didn't result in a turnover.

Impact The Bulldogs seem less bad on defense than in recent seasons, but you still want more than this at home from Jenkins. This was his third game of the season without a turnover, which is encouraging after he was a turnover machine as a true freshman starter in 2023. Of course, only one of his five fumbles have resulted in a turnover, so he's also been lucky.

Impact It was an FCS opponent, one that beat FIU because it allowed 45 points at that. However, Jenkins did his job. This is also his second game of the season without a turnover. He only had two such games his entire freshman season.

Impact For the second week in a row, Jenkins totaled three touchdowns. This time, though, he also had four turnovers. FIU's next two games are against Monmouth and La Tech, so Jenkins could pad his numbers a bit the rest of September.

Impact This is the best game of Jenkins' career. Sure, he's in his second game of his true sophomore season, but that's still a concern. He's shown a real issue with turning the ball over, so Jenkins still has a lot to prove.
