Impact Ransom-Goelz continued to sit out with an undisclosed injury as the Owls were defeated by the Cougars. The 6-foot sophomore tallied 26 receptions for 380 yards and three touchdowns with Rice last season, and he was expected to play a big role in the Owls' passing game this year. Ransom-Goelz's next opportunity to return will come against Army on Sept. 21, but his expected availability is unknown.

Impact Ransom-Goelz scored his third touchdown of the season Saturday, a 22-yard catch in garbage time late in the fourth quarter. He has gone for over 40 yards in six of his past eight games, a nice sign of consistency for the true freshman, especially considering so much of the offense is filtered through Luke McCaffrey.

Impact Ransom-Goelz had the best game of his young collegiate career Thursday, as he compiled his most receptions, targets and yards, and caught his second touchdown in the past three weeks. He has been fairly consistent of late too, as he has caught at least two passes for at least 40 yards in four of his last five games. He appears to have developed a rapport with JT Daniels which he will hope continues next Saturday versus No. 23 Tulane.
