Corey Gammage - Notches seven receptions Gammage had seven catches for 94 yards versus Navy on Saturday.

Impact Gammage was clearly targeted in the Marshall passing game this week. Opening the season with seven catches is encouraging to be sure. While he didn't score a touchdown, that may be more on quarterback Grant Wells, who should do better going forward.

Talik Keaton - Nets 100 yards Keaton caught five passes for 100 yards Saturday against Navy.

Impact Keaton and Corey Gammage are expected to vie for the lead role in this passing game. While Gammage got more receptions i this game, Keaton led the Thundering Herd in yards. Both players had good games, so nothing feels resolved but also all the information is encouraging.

Sheldon Evans - Tallies two TDs Evans rushed nine times for 27 yards and had three catches for 12 yards versus Navy on Saturday.

Impact Evans was listed as a co-starter heading into this game and was expected to see an increase in carries. Instead, he only got nine carries and 12 touches. While he found the end zone twice, Evans will need more yardage and touchdowns to really be a fantasy option.

Rasheen Ali - Touchdown machine in big win Ali rushed 14 times for 59 yards and a whopping four touchdowns against Navy on Saturday.

Impact On the one hand, four touchdowns is great. On the other hand, 59 yards on 14 carries is not exactly exciting. Ali can't rely on tacking up touchdowns at this rate going forward, though definitely keep an eye on him next week against NC Central.

Grant Wells - Throws two picks Wells went 20-for-30 for 333 yards and two interceptions against Navy on Saturday. He also rushed six times for 14 yards.

Impact Last season as a redshirt freshman Wells showed promise early on, but struggled a bit down the stretch. He finished with 18 touchdowns against nine interceptions. The completion percentage and yards were good here, but two picks and no touchdowns? That's a concern.

Sheldon Evans - Listed as co-starter Evans holds a co-starter designation for Saturday's season opener versus Navy, Grant Traylor of The Huntington Herald-Dispatch reports.

Impact Evans finished second on the team in rushing attempts among running backs each of the last two years but figures to be a bit more involved during the 2021 campaign with Brenden Knox having decided to leave for the NFL. Rasheen Ali is listed alongside him on the opening depth chart.
