Michigan State beats Maryland 27-24 on Jonathan Kim's late field goal

Jonathan Kim converted a 37-yard field goal with one second left to give Michigan State a 27-24 victory over Maryland in the Big Ten opener for both teams on Saturday

Preston Howard - Out Saturday Howard (undisclosed) is unavailable for Saturday's game against Michigan State.

Impact Howard may have been limited in Maryland's opener as well, as he logged just nine snags without seeing a target. The tight end totaled 13 receptions for 160 yards and a touchdown last season. Howard will look to return next week when the Terrapins face Virginia on the road. Dylan Wade figures to be the top tight-end option Saturday against the Spartans.

MJ Morris - Out for Week 2 Morris is listed as out for Maryland's Week 2 tilt with Michigan State.

Impact Morris played sparingly in the opener, completing 3-of-4 passes for 75 yards as the backup to Billy Edwards. He's slated to miss the Terrapins' first conference game of the season, however, leaving Cameron Edge in line to backup Maryland's starting quarterback.
