Roman Hemby - Logs 10 touches in upset loss Hemby posted four carries for 27 yards along with six catches (on eight targets) for 41 yards during Saturday's 33-27 loss to Northwestern.

Impact Hemby logged a season low in rushing attempts as the Terrapins offense played catchup for much of the second half. The redshirt sophomore saw the vast majority of the team's carries last season with 188 over 13 games; but, he's only logged 88 through eight games so far this season, as fellow running backs Antwain Littleton and Colby McDonald have both seen more usage in the running game. He's also yet to score a touchdown in Big Ten play this season. Nevertheless, Hemby has seen slightly more usage a receiver, catching all 24 of his targets for 221 yards so far in 2023. This offensive versatility should buoy his production over the last four games of the regular season.

Jeshaun Jones - Scores in tight loss Jones tallied nine catches (on 10 targets) for 78 yards and a touchdown during Saturday's 33-27 defeat versus Northwestern.

Impact Jones caught and 18-yard touchdown pass with just under four minutes remaining, pulling the score to 33-27. However, the Terps ultimately came up short, as quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa threw an interception in the red zone of the following drive. Jones tied with tight end Cory Dyches for a team high in targets ahead of wideout Tai Felton (nine) and running back Roman Hemby (eight). Jones narrowly leads the Terps in receptions (36) and receiving yards (496), but he only has the team's third-most receiving scores with three. He should continue to play a big role in the receiving game Week 10 versus Penn State.

Taulia Tagovailoa - Throws three TDs in loss Tagovailoa was 30-for-47 passing for 274 yards, three touchdowns and one interception during Saturday's 33-27 defeat against Northwestern. He also had 12 rushes for one yard.

Impact Tagovailoa was under consistent pressure from Northwestern's defensive front, taking six sacks. This included a strip sack that led to a Wildcats touchdown in the first quarter. The graduate senior responded with his second passing touchdown of the game on the Terps' ensuing drive, finding running back Roman Hemby for a 24-yard score. Tagovailoa also nearly engineered a late comeback, hitting wideout Jeshaun Jones for an 18-yard score with just under four minutes remaining; but, he finished the game by throwing a red-zone interception after a critical dropped pass by wideout Tai Felton on the previous play. Tagovailoa has now totaled 17 touchdowns to five turnovers across the last five games. He and the Terps will face one of their toughest opposing defenses of the season against Penn State in Week 10.
