Moderate showing in opener Brosmer completed 13 of 21 passes for 166 yards during Thursday's 19-17 defeat to North Carolina. He also had nine rushes for negative six yards with one touchdown. Impact The former New Hampshire transfer understandably looked shaky at times in his first game at the D-I level, though a touchdown run late in the second quarter gave the offense a seven-point lead heading into halftime. Aside from the rushing score, however, Brosmer and the Minnesota offense struggled throughout the day, as they were held to just three points in the second half and recorded less than 250 total yards on the day. Brosmer will hope to turn things around for the Golden Gophers offense when Minnesota hosts Rhode Island on Saturday.
