Nate Carter - Quiet day in season opener Carter logged 19 carries for 48 yards and caught their only target for negative one yard during Friday's 16-10 win versus Florida Atlantic. Impact Carter failed to gain much traction in the Spartans' season opening victory against Florida Atlantic as he was stifled on the ground for most of the day. The concerning bit for Carter is the admirable play by his new backfield-mate Kayron Lynch-Adams, as the former UMass transfer eclipsed 100 yards on the ground, adding a touchdown as well. Despite the lack of production, however, Carter received the larger workload, out-touching his counterpart 20-9 on the day. Both running backs will likely continue to get their share of touches moving forward, though Lynch-Adams' performance will likely earn him more opportunities moving forward.
