Impact Washington will join the Utes following a single season with New Mexico State. The former Buffalo transfer ran for 713 yards and eight touchdowns for the Aggies in 2024 while adding nine catches for 74 yards and a score through the air as well. He will retain a single year of eligibility with the Utes.

Impact The Utica, New York native transferred from Buffalo and ended up far from home down in New Mexico. All told, it seemed to pay off, though. The back jumped from 90 carries with the Bulls to 158 with the Aggies and rushed for 713 yards and eight touchdowns.

Impact Sure, Washington scored his seventh rushing touchdown of the season, but MTSU has one of the worst run defenses in the FBS. The face he averaged 1.8 yards per carry, and not because he was scoring 12 touchdowns from the 2-yard line, is really disappointing.

Impact Washington actually led NMSU in receiving yards, and was the only player on the team with multiple receptions. However, he only has seven catches all year, so that's probably an anomaly. Also, this passing offense is terrible.

Impact That's back-to-back games for Washington where he has averaged 8.0 yards per carry, which obviously pops. This is also his first lost fumble. Maybe skip Washington against Texas A&M, but ending the season with MTSU and UTEP is good for the back.

Impact This is the fourth time this season that Washington has gotten double-digit touches, and in each of those games he's had at least 50 total yards. While Seth McGowan also regularly gets double-digit touches, NMSU's quarterbacks are so bad the offense needs to rely on the run games.

Impact Three touchdowns from the Buffalo transfer certainly turns head. However, these are also his first three scores of the season. He's a bit of a plodder, but the passing game is a mess for NMSU, so Washington is going to get his touches.

Impact NMSU has the worst passing offense in FBS football. It needs to rely on the run game, and Washington had paired well with Seth McGowan as a "thunder" back to the latter's "lightning." This doesn't suffice, though, and opens the door for concerns about the Buffalo transfer.
