Leading rusher in romp Noel rushed 11 times for 48 yards and a touchdown Thursday against Murray State, while also catching four passes for 20 yards out of the backfield.

Impact Noel and fellow transfer Marcus Carroll were listed as co-starters, and while both rushers found the end zone in the 51-0 laugher over the Racers, it was Noel who nearly doubled the touches of Carroll. A true split is unlikely to come to the forefront until the schedule gets tougher, something that does not happen next weekend against Buffalo.

Co-starter on depth chart Noel is listed as a co-starter for Missouri at running back along with Marcus Carroll on the team's 2024 team depth chart, per Calum McAndrew of the Columbia Tribune.

Impact Noel and Carroll were previously seen splitting starter reps in practice during the past week, but it appears the Mizzou coaching staff feels comfortable heading into 2024 with a committee approach. The senior Appalachian State transfer came to the Tigers in the offseason following a very productive four seasons with the Mountaineers, rushing for over 3,000 yards and 18 touchdowns on the ground. The workload split between Noel and Carroll will be worth monitoring throughout the season, but a committee approach seems to be imminent at least to start the 2024 campaign.

Impact Although reports indicate this could be situational, it is worth noting that Noel was taking first-team reps ahead of fellow running back Marcus Carroll. The coaching staff has expressed comfort in deploying a committee between the two backs, which would fall in line with the starter reps for the senior ball-carrier. The 5-foot-10 running back carried the ball 173 times for 834 yards and five touchdowns while reeling in 16 receptions for 86 yards across 11 games during the 2023 season.

Impact For undisclosed reasons, Noel did not suit up in Saturday's win. With just two weeks left in the regular season, it's possible Noel won't return to his pre-injury workload in 2023.
