Luke Lindenmeyer - Slated for big role in 2026
Lindenmeyer is slated for a big role in 2026, Steven Sipple of On3.com reports.
Impact
Lindenmeyer is a 6-foot-3, 250-pound tight end part of Nebraska's 2026 roster. He is only one of two senior TEs and easily the group's most productive player. It looks like at minimum, Lindenmeyer can replicate his 2025 season, during which he logged 29 receptions for 312 yards (10.8 averaged per catch) and two touchdowns for the Cornhuskers.

Nyziah Hunter - Not dressed for spring game
Hunter is not dressed for Nebraska's spring game Saturday, Sam McKewon of the Omaha World-Herald reports.
Impact
Considering that Nebraska's team has regularly used Hunter as a top wideout before the spring, his absence indicates that some sort of problem is affecting him. It has not been made clear why he will be unavailable. Hunter shifts his focus to either the summer or fall.

Kwazi Gilmer - Impressing in spring
Gilmer has impressed during the spring, Pete Nakos of On3.com reports.
Impact
According to Nakos, a significantly big role is expected for Gilmer, who transferred from UCLA. It is unsurprising that many opportunities may be in line for the wide receiver, previously Nico Iamaleava's top target during their 2025 season together. During it, Gilmer logged 50 receptions (on 93 targets) for 535 yards and four touchdowns.

TJ Lateef - Not favored for QB1
Lateef is starting to fall behind Anthony Colandrea in the race to be Nebraska's starting quarterback, Pete Nakos of On3.com reports.
Impact
Even though Dylan Raiola leaving Nebraska meant the Cornhuskers needed to update their primary quarterback, them acquiring Colandrea meant Lateef would remain an unlikely option for their QB1 position. Nakos indicates that remains the case, and even worsened with Colandrea starting to separate himself well off from Lateef. At least until further notice, it looks like another year of backing up is on the cards for Lateef.

Anthony Colandrea - Separating himself in QB race
Colandrea is starting to separate himself from TJ Lateef in the race to be Nebraska's starting quarterback, Pete Nakos of On3.com reports.
Impact
Once the Nebraska team lost Dylan Raiola (who transferred to Oregon using the NCAA's transfer portal) this offseason, NU acquired Colandrea. Already favored to be QB1 for 2026, the former has his case enhanced based on the Nakos update. Colandrea not only has Power Conference experience but also excelled in 2025 with UNLV, who got almost 4,000 total yards and more than 30 touchdowns out of the quarterback.

Jackson Carpenter - Back for spring ball
Carpenter (undisclosed) is set to participate in spring ball, per Mitch Sherman of The Athletic.
Impact
Carpenter was out for all but two games this past season, but he'll luckily be back on the field as the Cornhuskers kick off spring camp. The incoming sophomore wideout has not yet recorded a catch at the college level, so he'll be looking to make a jump this upcoming campaign.

Jeremiah Jones - Set to participate in spring ball
Jones (undisclosed) is set to participate in Nebraska's spring ball, Mitch Sherman of The Athletic reports.
Impact
Jones missed all but one game in the 2025 campaign after sustaining an unknown injury. The incoming sophomore wide receiver will, fortunately, be good to go for the Cornhuskers' spring camp. He logged one catch for six yards in his one outing last year.
