Eli Sanders - Sees 16 carries in Week 1 Sanders compiled 16 carries for 30 yards and caught 2 of 3 targets for 39 yards during Saturday's 61-39 defeat against Arizona.

Impact Sanders wasn't able to find much room on the ground Saturday, though he salvaged a respectable outing with a couple of receptions, including one for 31 yards. Sanders, who joined the Lobos as a transfer from Iowa State this season, appears to be the clear lead back for New Mexico. He's compiled 117 rushing yards on 33 carries through his first two games this season.

Impact Wysong has certainly established himself as Devon Dampier's go-to option in the early going -- no other receiver saw more than six targets Saturday. The 5-foot-10 Wysong is up to 224 yards, just 67 shy of his season high set in 11 games as a sophomore in 2022, on 14 receptions through his first two contests this season.

Impact After a disappointing season-opener against Montana State, Dampier look much better against Arizona, both through the air and on the ground, contributing to all five of New Mexico's touchdowns while leading the Lobos in rushing. While he may not be the most accurate passer, Dampier is could put up big fantasy numbers thanks to his running ability. Through two games, the sophomore quarterback's completed 61.8 percent of his passes for 432 yards, four touchdowns and a pair of interceptions while adding 164 rushing yards with three scores.

Though he failed to record a counting stat in the game, it's a good sign that he was able to return to the field. Wysong will hope to work his way into a larger role within the offense throughout the 2024 season, starting when New Mexico travels to face Auburn following their bye on Saturday.

Impact Wysong was listed as the top receiver on New Mexico's depth chart, and his output reflected this Saturday -- no other receiver saw more than four targets, including Caleb Medford, the Lobos' top option last year, who made just one catch for seven yards. Wysong played in only four games last season, totaling 110 yards and a touchdown on seven receptions, though he recorded 58 catches for 515 yards in his previous two campaigns.

Impact Dampier didn't get much going through the air in Saturday's stunning loss, though he salvaged his day from a fantasy perspective with a 24-yard rushing touchdown. Dampier flashed some upside on the ground after taking over the starting job as a freshman last year, running for 328 yards on 59 attempts with four touchdowns in nine games. He completed 62.5 percent of his passes for 525 yards, six touchdowns and no interceptions.
