Not asked to do too much Vedral completed 15 of 27 passes for 138 yards and one touchdown in the 61-14 win over Temple on Saturday. He also had eight carries for 58 yards.
Impact The Rutgers quarterback didn't seem to have improved his passing much from his nine touchdown, eight interception season a year ago. The team was happy to rely on the rushing game and not ask Vedral to do too much. The senior might struggle if called upon to do more against better opponents.

After completing 61.8 percent of his passes for 5.7 yards per attempt and nine touchdowns while adding 193 yards and another score on the ground, Vedral hasn't had to compete for the starting job in camp. Instead, head coach Greg Schiano is using the team's remaining practices to evaluate Evan Simon and Cole Snyder for the No. 2 role.

Impact Vedral missed the final game of the season against Nebraska because of the ankle issue, which was apparently of a rather severe nature considering it is still not 100 percent. Vedral did mention that he's back practicing and is excited for spring ball, so he should head into fall practice as the heavy favorite to retain the starting gig under center.
