Dillion Gabriel leads Oklahoma past his former team

Dillon Gabriel threw three TD passes against his former team as the No. 6 Sooners held on to beat UCF 31-29 on Saturday.

Jalil Farooq - Five targets in win over UCF Farooq posted three catches (on five targets) for 23 yards during Saturday's 31-29 victory versus UCF. He also recorded three rushing attempts for 16 yards.

Impact Farooq has at least five targets in each of his last five games. Unfortunately for fantasy rosters he has just one touchdown over that span. That type of volume suggests that regression is coming and that he should have more scoring opportunities in the near future. It could happen as soon as next week at Kansas as that game projects to have plenty of scoring.

Drake Stoops - Records season-high nine targets Stoops totaled seven catches (on nine targets) for 60 yards and a touchdown during Saturday's 31-29 victory over UCF.

Impact Stoops' nine targets were a season-high which led to the senior receiver posting his fifth touchdown of the year. Those five scores are a career high. With at least four targets in all seven games this year, Stoops is a receiver that should be more highly considered for fantasy rosters each and every week. Oklahoma will play at Kansas next week and there should be a ton of points in that contest.

Gavin Sawchuk - Notches score in win over Knights Sawchuk tallied 10 rushes for 63 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 31-29 win versus UCF. He also recorded two catches (on three targets) for 12 yards.

Impact Sawchuk notched his second score of the year as Oklahoma made the comeback to stay undefeated. He trailed teammate Marcus Major who led with 18 carries and 82 yards. Oklahoma's backfield has been a committee in 2023, so it's hard to say whether Sawchuk will see double-digit carries again. Oklahoma will play at Kansas next week.

Marcus Major - Lead rusher for the Sooners in win Major posted 18 rushes for 82 yards during Saturday's 31-29 victory versus UCF. He also caught two passes (on three targets) for nine yards.

Impact Major saw double-digit carries for the third time this season. The next closest rusher was Gavin Sawchuk who carried the ball 10 times for 63 yards and a touchdown. The Oklahoma backfield has been a committee this year, so it would be hard to predict who will be the top rusher next week. Oklahoma will play at Kansas next week.

Dillon Gabriel - Complete game against former team Gabriel completed 25 of 38 passes for 253 yards, three touchdowns and one interception during Saturday's 31-29 victory against UCF. He also had 10 rushes for 22 yards.

Impact Gabriel avoided the upset loss to his former team by throwing at least three touchdown passes for the fourth time this year. The Sooners' quarterback has 24 total touchdowns compared to just four turnovers this year. That's pretty good and if the team keeps winning, Gabriel will surely be in New York for the Heisman presentation. He'll continue his campaign for college football's most prestigious award at Kansas next week.
