Derrick Davis - Permanently shifts to backfield Davis said during Tuesday's press conference that he's going to play running back in his first season at Pittsburgh, Noah Hiles of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. Impact Davis, a reserve safety at LSU across the previous two campaigns, was forced to temporarily fill in at running back for two games last year when the Tigers' were depleted at the position. He's since found a new home at Pittsburgh where he'll primarily operate as a ball carrier. In Davis' two appearances as a running back, he accumulated 57 yards and a score on 11 carries.
