Impact Eight receptions from a running back definitely garners attention. So did the four rushing touchdowns Ali had against Navy in Week 1. The back is definitely looking like a big weapon for the Marshall offense thus far.

Impact On the one hand, four touchdowns is great. On the other hand, 59 yards on 14 carries is not exactly exciting. Ali can't rely on tacking up touchdowns at this rate going forward, though definitely keep an eye on him next week against NC Central.

Impact Ali contributed all of five carries during the 2020 season but looks destined for an expanded role in 2021 following the departure of Brenden Knox for the NFL. Evans was second on the team in terms of rush attempts (72) last season, so he figures to be sizably involved as well.
