Lands at Miami Poffenbarger announced Monday that he has committed to Miami (Fla.), joining the program as a transfer from FCS Albany, Pete Thamel of ESPN.com reports. Impact A rising redshirt junior, Poffenbarger will arrive in Coral Gables with up to two years of eligibility to use and should challenge returning quarterbacks Emory Williams (shoulder) and Jacurri Brown for the starting role heading into the fall. Despite having not competed at the FBS level -- he walked on at Old Dominion in 2021 before leaving the program without playing a snap -- Poffenbarger established himself as one of the top signal-callers in the FCS while serving as a full-time starter for Albany over the past two seasons. The 6-foot-1, 215-pound Poffenbarger paced the FCS in passing touchdowns (36) and passing yards (3,603) and led the Great Danes to the FCS semifinals in 2023.
