2023 College Football Week 8 predictions, best bets by Chris 'The Bear' Fallica
Kamdyn Benjamin - Scores TD in blowout lossBenjamin caught three passes for 48 yards and a touchdown during Thursday's 42-10 loss versus Rice.
ImpactBenjamin caught his first touchdown of the season Thursday, the Golden Hurricane's lone touchdown in the forgettable loss. While Benjamin's season high in receptions is an uninspiring four, he has been quietly consistent this season. Thursday marked his fifth consecutive game with at least 45 receiving yards. While his ceiling is not very high, the consistent floor gives him some value in deeper formats.

Cardell Williams - Tosses touchdown ThursdayWilliams completed 7 of 14 passes for 101 yards and one touchdown during Thursday's 42-10 defeat against Rice. He also had nine rushes for 13 yards.
ImpactWilliams did not start Thursday but once again played a fair amount with Braylon Braxton seemingly limited. Williams played 28 snaps compared to Braxton's 41, but Williams attempted more passes. He also threw the only Golden Hurricane touchdown, a 30-yard completion to Kamdyn Benjamin late in the second quarter. It is currently unclear if Williams will continue splitting snaps with Braxton, but next Saturday's game at SMU should shed some more light on the situation.

Braylon Braxton - Limited again ThursdayBraxton completed 4 of 8 passes for 37 yards and one interception during Thursday's 42-10 loss versus Rice. He also had 12 rushes for 89 yards and a lost fumble.
ImpactBraxton started Thursday's game but split time once again with Cardell Williams. He had a nightmare start to the game throwing an interception on just the second offensive play Thursday. He only attempted eight passes, but he made up for it with 89 rushing yards, easily the most scrimmage yards on the team. He took 41 snaps compared to Williams 28, and the two played a few snaps together. It is unclear if the pair of quarterbacks will split time for the rest of the season, or if this is just the strategy until Braxton is fully healthy. That question will hopefully be answered next Saturday at SMU.

Landon Ransom-Goelz - Scores touchdown ThursdayRansom-Goelz caught five passes for 58 yards and a touchdown during Thursday's 42-10 win over Tulsa.
ImpactRansom-Goelz had the best game of his young collegiate career Thursday, as he compiled his most receptions, targets and yards, and caught his second touchdown in the past three weeks. He has been fairly consistent of late too, as he has caught at least two passes for at least 40 yards in four of his last five games. He appears to have developed a rapport with JT Daniels which he will hope continues next Saturday versus No. 23 Tulane.

Luke McCaffrey - Scores again ThursdayMcCaffrey caught six passes for 99 yards and a touchdown during Thursday's 42-10 victory over Tulsa.
ImpactMcCaffery scored his seventh touchdown of the season Thursday, a 21-yard reception from JT Daniels in the first quarter. He reached 99 yards for the fourth time in the last six games, proving once again to be Daniels' most consistent outlet. He faces a tougher defense next Saturday in No. 23 Tulane, but if the Owls fall into a deficit as expected, the team is likely to throw the ball a lot versus the Green Wave.
