Entering portal Martinez will enter the transfer portal with one year of eligibility, he announced in his personal Twitter account.
Impact The senior program will enter the portal looking for a change of scenery ahead of his final year of college eligibility. He was limited to just four appearances in 2024, where he completed 18 of 24 passes for 148 yards and an interception. He hasn't thrown a touchdown pass in his last two college seasons.

Efficient in relief Martinez was 11-for-14 passing for 113 yards and one interception during Tuesday's 23-17 defeat versus Louisiana. He also had five rushes for 13 yards.
Impact Martinez entered Tuesday's game in place of Jordan McCloud, who suffered an undisclosed injury late in the first half. Though McCloud was seen warming up before the third quarter, Martinez remained under center for the final two quarters. He completed 78.6 percent of his passes but threw an interception in Louisiana territory with three minutes left in the fourth quarter. If McCloud misses the Bobcats' matchup with Louisiana-Monroe on Nov. 9, Martinez would likely draw the start.
