Committing to UMass Griffin announced his committment to play for UMass for the 2025 season via his X account Monday.

Impact Griffin will join the Minutemen following two years with UTSA. The redshirt junior running back appeared in just four games for the Roadrunners in 2024, running for 44 scoreless yards while adding three receptions for 16 yards through the air as well. He will retain a single year of eligibility with UMass.

Impact Griffin has entered the transfer portal as a grad transfer, and he'll now prepare for the 2025 season with a new program after failing to make an impact with UTSA. Through four appearances this season, Griffin was limited to just 17 carries for 44 yards, so he'll be looking for a more prominent role elsewhere.

Impact Griffin scored his third touchdown of the season Saturday, a seven-yard rush in the second quarter to take the 24-10 lead. He was one of four Roadrunners to have at least 10 carries in the game, proving once again how split the running game is. He has been quite productive in the last three weeks, and with two favorable matchups coming up he could be a sleeper play in deeper formats.

Impact Griffin came into Saturday's game with a questionable designation and not only played, but led the Roadrunners in rushing attempts and scored a touchdown. He was one of three running backs to rush at least 10 times for at least 50 yards versus FAU. While he sits third on the depth chart, he still sees a fair number of touches which is sometimes enough in the Roadrunners' productive offense.
