Tops 100 receiving yards Bell caught 11 of his 15 targets for 121 yards in Saturday's 31-10 win over Indiana.

Impact Bell accounted for over one-thirds of the Wolverines' receptions while being targeted on nearly half of quarterback J.J. McCarthy's 36 passing attempts. With wideout Roman Wilson (undisclosed) and tight end Erick All (undisclosed) both out Saturday, the senior pass catcher combined with tight end Luke Schoonmaker (nine receptions, 10 targets, 67 yards, one touchdown) for all but eight of McCarthy's 20 completions, as the Hoosiers defense focused on stopping the run for much of Saturday's game. Bell averaged 3.8 receptions (4.8 targets) for 53.8 yards through the first five games of the season, and he'll face a much tougher pass defense during next week's game against Penn State.

Impact Bell notched just the third rushing attempt of his Michigan career as he carried the ball twice for 26 yards Saturday, including a 16-yard sweep to cap off the Wolverines' first scoring drive. The senior wideout's usage in the running game helped make up for one of his least productive receiving outings of the 2022 campaign. Michigan's passing offense with quarterback J.J. McCarthy (18-of-24 passing, 155 yards, one touchdown) was largely limited against the Hawkeyes stout defense, so Bell's production should return to his per-game receiving averages from the first four weeks of the season (4.3 receptions, 5.3 targets, 63.3 yards) when the Wolverines take on Indiana this Saturday.

Impact Bell is returning from a torn ACL suffered on a punt return during Michigan's Week 1 opener that sidelined him for the remainder of last season. Harbaugh stated last week that he's excited with the graduate senior's performance and where he is at physically during fall camp practices, saying, "Every day [Bell] does something that I might have worried about." According to Balas, Bell set personal best times in the 40-yard dash and other team drills this offseason, and he should be set to reprise his role as the Wolverines' leading receiver (74-1,259-2) from 2019 to 2020.
